Gamers worldwide must wait longer for Grand Theft Auto VI after Rockstar Games confirmed another delay. The company moved the release to November 2026. The long-anticipated title will no longer arrive this month as previously expected. Rockstar has now postponed its launch twice, after first shifting it from May 2026. The developer plans to release the game on 19 November 2026. GTA VI was initially supposed to hit stores in autumn 2025.
Developers Aim for Higher Quality
Rockstar asked fans for patience, stating it needs additional time to deliver a game that meets expected quality standards. The studio promised to match the level of play gamers “expect and deserve.” The game will let players roam the streets freely, steal vehicles, and fill garages with cars, bikes, and boats. Players will face police chases, time-based missions, and chaotic street fights. The game’s characters speak with raw, unfiltered dialogue that defines the series’ bold tone.
Vice City Returns with Bigger Scope
Grand Theft Auto VI will transport players to the state of Leonida, featuring the neon-soaked streets of the fictional Vice City. Rockstar described it as the most expansive and immersive version of the series to date. GTA has remained one of the world’s most popular and best-selling gaming franchises for over a decade. Each major release—Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV—has elevated its influence in modern entertainment. Grand Theft Auto V alone has sold more than 215 million copies, ranking second in global sales only to Minecraft.
