A widespread power cut struck parts of Paris and Hauts-de-Seine on Thursday morning, affecting 55,000 homes.
The outage shut down traffic lights and streetlights across several neighbourhoods.
It also halted sections of the metro system and disrupted some suburban train lines.
Enedis said the blackout lasted about five minutes before most areas regained electricity.
A few thousand homes still face power issues as crews continue repairs.

    Cause Identified by Grid Operators

Enedis reported that a technical incident at the RTE substation in Issy-les-Moulineaux triggered the outage.
RTE oversees France’s high-voltage power transmission network and responded immediately to the failure.
Technicians worked to stabilize the system and restore electricity to impacted districts.

    Response and Next Steps

Enedis apologised for the disruption and assured residents that teams remain on site.
The company continues investigating the malfunction to prevent similar events.
Authorities monitor the remaining outages as repairs progress toward full restoration.
