Ruben Amorim accused his Manchester United side of becoming complacent after they let a dominant position slip in a 3-3 draw against Tottenham.
United led for much of the match after Bryan Mbeumo’s first-half opener, but goals from Mathys Tel and Richarlison turned the game on its head before Matthijs de Ligt rescued a point with a 96th-minute header.
While the dramatic equaliser extended United’s unbeaten run to five games, Amorim was unhappy with the team’s attitude.
“We were comfortable in the game but I think we should do better, be more aggressive,” he said. “We felt too comfortable. Anything can happen in one play and change the mood of the stadium — and that’s what happened. The game was there to take.”
Amorim also confirmed that Benjamin Sesko suffered a suspected knee injury after coming off the bench:
“We think he has a problem, but let’s see.”
Tottenham boss Thomas Frank defended his substitutions after being booed for taking off Xavi Simons for Tel, who went on to score the equaliser.
“Every single time I make a substitution it’s to win the game,” he said. “Tel did well and got the goal – a great moment.”
Despite failing to win at home since 16 August, Frank was encouraged by his team’s fightback:
“So close to winning it. Overall it was a good performance against a Manchester United side that’s definitely in flow.”
